No daily skates this weekend. Duty calls.
That’s the thing with the average skater: as much as we’d like to skate every day, run to the skatepark during every prime point of perfect weather on any given day, or just step out into the drive way late at night, there are times when important things come up or there isn’t room to shred.
This weekend, while I won’t be skating, I will be thinking about moves I want to master, convincing myself I can stay as low as I did as a teen, and hoping that a few days away from my board won’t cause major steps backward.
Maybe I can do it like in the movie “Airborne” and work on balance and stance by pretending barefoot in the basement.
Until next time.
