“Daily” Skate 29 April 2024

Fell into the “just one more” loop like it was the Groundhog Day movie while practicing 50-50s. I suppose it’s good that I worked on the grind, even though I didn’t land one. After all, it has been a couple weeks of minor injury and off-and-on weather, so my expectations going into the session this morning were nill.

Almost every attempt ended with stepping off my board because I was inaccurate with the front truck, missing the grind by landing both wheels atop the ledge (the back truck connected every time, though, which had been a trouble spot before—so I got that goin’ for me, which is nice). With the last few attempts, though, I pushed my attention to exactly where I wanted to land in the grind and managed to lock in. It was just the rest of the trick that didn’t come together.

Oh well, hopefully April showers are turning to May flowers, and I’ll get a few consecutive sessions, upping the likelihood of pulling together the grind and everything else that felt a little stiff today—like ollies, stalls, manuals… all of it. Haha

All I can do is keep on pushing. So, that’s what I’ll do.

An April morning's slow sunrise.
